Portsmouth Christian Union Freshers Church Search Event

Monday 30th September, 6:45-9:00pm, W1.08 Eldon Building, PO1 2DJ

On Monday 30th September at 6:45 pm, we will be attending the Portsmouth University Chrisitan Union church search event meeting in W1.08 in the Eldon Building. It’s a great opportunity to come and hear from different churches around the city and hear our heart for students in the city, as well as meet other students from the Christian Union and how to get involved with their on-campus mission.

CITIZENS

Citizens in our 18-23's ministry that runs throughout the academic year. We meet as a group of people from all over the UK, and even the world. Whether as students or for a variety of other reasons, there’s a wonderfully diverse mosaic of people who are gathered here in Portsmouth. It’s our desire to be a culture of belonging to everyone who joins us.

Paul said, in Philippians 3:20, But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Saviour.” (NLT) This means, no matter where we come from, we have the commonality of being Citizens of the Kingdom of God as the family of God.

This is a group for anyone aged 18-23, which includes students and anyone else who is part of that age range in our King’s family.

Where and When?

This term, we’re hosting ‘Citizens Nights’, as part of Abi & Dom’s Life Group, twice a month on Tuesday evenings after the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. We meet from 7:00-9:30pm in a home in Southsea. At our gatherings, we spend time getting to know one another over nibbles, conversation, prayer, delving into the word from Sunday and the occasional game. Please get in contact below if you are interested in joining us and we will be in touch soon!

MEET THE CITIZENS LEADERS

DREW ENOS - PASTOR

Hey, everyone! I’m Drew. My Wife Laura and I, along with our six kids moved to Portsmouth in November on 2023 all the way from Southern California. It’s an absolute honour to be here at King’s Church serving in this capacity, and I’m very much looking forward to meeting you soon!

Favourite Colour: Green

Favourite Food: hmmmm… probably authentic Mexican food… or thai… but Italian is amazing as well. Oh wait, Potatoes. I love potatoes in every form.

Favourite Activity: I love to write and perform music. I also enjoy reading, and LOVE going to the cinema. Above all, I love being with my family, snuggling my kids, and spending time with my wife watching a show and sometimes building legos.

Fun Fact About Me: I once served Gordon Ramsey coffee when I worked at Starbucks. He was very kind and didn’t throw the drink or curse at me, which I considered a win.

ABBY COLE - LEADER

Hi I'm Abby and I moved to Portsmouth in 2020 after I felt God redirect my plans for life after uni and five years later I’m still here enjoying life on the south coast. I’m so excited to be able to serve the 18-23’s community and welcome you into our King’s family!

Favourite Colour: Green

Favourite Food: Salmon is my favourite food ever and I’ll happily have it in whatever form it comes in. A few years ago I even dressed up as a salmon when I was volunteering at a youth event

Favourite Activity: I’m always up for a swim in the sea, especially if paddleboarding is involved! I have also officially entered my granny era and I love crocheting various hats, jumpers and cardigans.

Fun Fact About Me: I have lived with 20 different people since I left home in 2017. Some experiences were great, some not so much and once me and my housemate climbed onto our roof and attached a giant inflatable watermelon to the front of our house for what we used to call ‘Silly Saturdays’.

young adults

Young Adults head for lunch together after the service on the first Sunday of the month. Meet at the Connect Corner to head down together!

We get connected with the wider church family through mid-week life groups.
