HOPE Projects are how we serve our community, responding to the needs of those in our city; from emergency food parcels, holistic support and family programmes.

PORTSMOUTH FOODBANK

Providing emergency food aid 5-days a week to those who need it most in Portsmouth from our central warehouse at the King’s Centre; working with satellite Foodbank centres in Portsea and Paulsgrove.

 

Circle of Support

Circle Of Support provides a person-centred support plan to aid those in hardship crisis in the areas of: emergency food aid, benefit delays, sanctions, debt, unemployment, relationship breakdowns, domestic abuse, homelessness, illness, disability, food/fuel poverty, digital exclusion and literacy or numeracy skills.

ROC+COACH Community Mentoring Programme

ROC+COACH Mentoring is a Community strengthening programme. It aims to empower young people and families and build resilience in individuals through one-to-one mentoring.

A ROC community mentor is a friend with purpose, offering practical help and mentoring towards life goals. To find out more about becoming a mentor, referring someone or receiving help yourself, click below.

Tiny Treasures

3rd Tuesdays (termtime) 9.30-11am, King's Centre, Fraser Road

With a theme, crafts, snack time, free play, friendship and support for adults and a short time singing and learning something about God's family - anyone with a little one aged 5 and under is so welcome!

50p per family

 

HOPE Cafe

Thursdays (termtime), 10.30am-12pm, King’s Centre, Fraser Road

With a warm welcome, free hot drinks, cake and a kids corner, there will be lots of opportunities to chat and get to know new people, with someone sharing an inspiring thought about life & faith to finish.

Doors will be open from 10.30am. All ages and stages are welcome, come join us!

King’s Kids

1st & 3rd Fridays (termtime), 6-7pm, King’s Chuch, Playfair Road

We love welcoming children and families from our local community to enjoy a free hour of fun! With team games, lively worship, child-friendly teaching about God, mess and prizes, it tuly is the best hour of your week!

We also have a free parents’ cafe, & toys for little ones, so join us for a cuppa, a biscuit and a chat.

Eden Youth

1st & 3rd Fridays (term time), 7.30-9.30pm, King’s Church, Playfair Road

Eden is an open space to hang out with mates and meet new people - come join us for a chill space, games, chat time, a big question of the week, tuck food and so much more. Free entry & free pizza! Bring cash for the tuck shop.

Foodbank

Portsmouth Foodbank at the Kings Centre is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am-1pm, for those who hold a voucher.
For information of how to get a food bank voucher, click here.

Portsmouth Foodbank operates to give local people access to emergency food when they need it most. Working in partnership with churches across the city in Paulsgrove and Portsea, Portsmouth Foodbank provides sessions 4-days a week, with over 100 connected referral agencies.

What's In Our
Food Parcels?

Portsmouth Foodbank provides parcels of non-perishable food, guided by The Trussell Trust, who has worked with nutritionists to ensure food parcels contains sufficient nutrition for at least three days worth of healthy, balanced meals for individuals and families.

A TYPICAL FOOD PARCEL INCLUDES:

Breakfast Cereals / Soup / Pasta / Rice / Pasta sauce / Tinned Beans / Tinned Meat or Fish / Tinned Vegetables / Tinned Fruit / Long-life Milk / Tea or Coffee / Biscuits / Snacks

More Than Food

We offer help beyond a food parcel, running a More Than Food programme, providing additional support alongside emergency food, to help people address the underlying issues behind their crisis.
