What is the HOST team all about?
Host and hospitality is all about being the first face people see when they walk through the door on a Sunday morning, whether standing at the door, mingling around the back chatting to fresh faces or serving people a hot drink. Host members are the face of the church for anyone new, signposting them to people and getting people to connect with the church. Hospitality gang serve people drinks and pastries, making them feel at ease and comfortable before the service begins.

Why join the team?
Host and hospitality is an accessible team for everybody. Whether you are a people person who loves to chat, or prefers to serve more quietly by making people the perfect cup of coffee. The beauty of host and hospitality is also that you’ll be finished when the service starts so can sit with your friends or family with no worry about missing anything.

What does commitment look like?
One weekend a month, arriving at 9.30 for pre service prayer. Once this has finished at 10am, hosters will go and check in with their host team leader and grab a lanyard, hospitality will go to the hospitality bar (which will already be set up) and start taking requests for drinks. This will run until 10.30 when the service begins.

What we offer in return
Community and the opportunity to speak to people on a Sunday morning that you’d usually never chat to, which often brings about interesting and unexpected conversations.

We’re also going to be kicking off evenings (termly) where we meet up with a takeaway and get to know each other that bit more, as opposed to just serving together on a Sunday.
